  does anyone believe or put any truth to the stuff on this show?

  from what i can see its pretty cool stuff.

  seems to tie in a lot of social ideas about religions and prayer and interaction with a spirit realm.

  Says who? If you only want confirmation bias and your fluffy world view to remain unchallenged then sure, ... if you want answers to difficult questions then, no.

  Have you ever had a hallucination? What was it like?

  i have almost never had a visual hallucination and i was wondering what they're like.

  how "real" do they seem?

  is there any kind of a hint you get that tells you they are not real?

  Back on topic..

  Oliver sacks is worth listening to for some input, some hallucinations are due to the brain filling in the blanks due to impairment (e.g loss of sight or hearing) as well as the usual suspects of illness and injury, stress, fatigue, drugs etc etc.

  I always remember the account of Shackleton where they have an "extra man" or "the third man factor" on the final stage to the whaling station for rescue, being totally knackered after all their amazing efforts, it's no suprise they hallucinated this encounter, as opposed to it being an angel as some would want it.

  keep this one fact in mind about jehovah's witnesses.

  they exist in three dumb categories throughout their history.. 1. honest bible students attracted to the gimmicks of russell (charts, graphs, chronologies, pyramid inches, etc.

  ) expected the end of the world to come and they wanted to know more.. 2.contrarian hard heads under rutherford wanted to prove everybody was wrong about everything except themselves.
